The list below are just some of my success stories. They go from breaking-in into new customers (business_development), swapping competitors (gain_market_share) , and adding new customers to the list (increase_sales_volume). I have also added one important milestone that says a lot about how I build customer relationships-Best Supplier among +1000 supplier competition-. This demands careful listening, full commitment, building trust, and reliable delivery.

  • Market research and geographical development plan for the Caribbean and Central American Market in the Consumer Electronics market.

National Sales Director Consumer Electronics at LG Electronics Venezuela Jan 2010 - July 2013
  • Managed a +$100 million/year nationwide sales operation.

  • Increased from 4 to 15 distribution channels boosting sales an average of 28% (2010 - 2012).

  • Positioned LG as #1 in market share in home appliances and #2 in home electronics.

  • Coordinated multi-functional teams (product mgrs, marketing, logistics and sales executives).

 

Subsidiary Manager Branch Venezuela at Sony Ericsson Nov 2007 - Dec 2009
  • #1 subsidiary among 4 countries in profitability in our region.

  • 100% participation (through engagements with CXOs) on seasonal promotions in an operator-driven market (subsidies) ensuring market demand and share.

  • Defined sell-out programs in coordination with relevant operators to manage EOL and avoid liquidation of overstocked inventories.

 

Regional VP Multimedia, Enterprise & Business Development at Ericsson Oct 2006 - Nov 2007
  • Turnover of over $25 million for the region by recruiting and supporting the team that won and executed the newly developed revenue assurance service in Movistar.

  • Built up and led a cross-functional regional organization (Central American, Caribbean, northern South America) of the newly formed multimedia business unit of Ericsson.

 

Subsidiary Manager & VP Sales at Ericsson Venezuela Jan 2002  - Dec 2006
  • Won $140+ million contract by orchestrating the team reversing a 4-year sales decline in wireless network and placing our subsidiary as #1 in the region (Central America, Caribbean and Colombia & Ecuador).

  • Expanded customer-base from 1 to 3 operators, reducing company risks by not depending on one single customer’s business.

  • Established the Customer Satisfaction Program, covering all functions of the organization, which resulted in the award of Prize of Excellence for the best supplier the following year.

 

Prior Experience/Accomplishments (as Key Account Manager-KAM & Business Manager)
  • Achieved one major mobile network contract for over $120 million USD in two years. (KAM for Verizon International at Ericsson 1994-99).

  • Reduced operational costs by 60% by consolidating two separate organizations into one to service the CANTV-VERIZON Group. (KAM for Verizon International at Ericsson 2001-02).

  • Reduced Ericsson exposure by establishing a collection plan negotiated directly with the Caribbean operators. (Regional Business Mgr. at Ericsson Sweden Jan-Dec 2000).

Latest Projects

2010, Opened Daka account, the largest Big Box retailer in Venezuela as a new customer. This customer provided LG Electronics with important sales, growing the account in 2010 from the low million, up to more than 30 million USD in 2012, gaining a share of sales of close to 25% of the retailer's total sales.

2006 Led the team that won a 2-year mobile infrastructure of over + $140 million, replacing existing CDMA vendor with Ericsson

 

1997 Won a 2-year contract for the first wireless digital network, valuen +$ 120 million in two year

2005 Awarded as the Best Supplier (Prize of Excellence) for CANTV-VERIZON, which recognized the efforts as a partner as an infrastructure supplier and complete service provider
